#46: 2 years (but feels like more… đź’Ť)

How do you celebrate your 2 year wedding anniversary when you’re on a day off from work in the mountains in France? Hiking!

Enjoying some waterfall views.

In between prepping work for next week, we found time for two hikes – once accompanied by an excellent mug of hot chocolate on the shoulder between Tignes and Val D’Isere, and the other a venture down the valley.

It has long been our aim to explore Brevieres, but somehow (with the exception of a slip and slide ski down here once in winter when it was ridiculously icy) we’ve never made it down here before.

Being underneath the dam was quite an odd feeling, and the building process of what appears to be yet another Club Med-esque building was a little disheartening, but otherwise the nature was breathtaking – it’s one of those paths where you continuously feel like you want to go round “just one more corner” every time.

Deciding against going out (not least because it’s still the inter season and everything is shut, we enjoyed a home cooked supper (while also trying not to break our bank in the Tignes supermarket…). We ended up with crisps and a bottle of champagne given to Eliza by a student, home made carbonara and some chocolate for pudding – a decadent evening!

Champagne with a view 🌄🥂

Two jam-packed years. Looking forward to seeing what the next couple hold!
