#2: Last week in England

Having packed our stuff and taken multiple loads of the Fiat Panda (that turned out to be less of a tardis than we might have hoped) across to Suffolk, this week left us with the job of sorting through and cutting it down into only absolutely essential stuff. That does include everything we might need to hike, swim, camp, train, yoga, take photos, ski, plan a moon landing, live in a nuclear bunker…

How many boxes is too many?

Once we had whittled down our belongings to a little more than just our underwear (might be a bit chilly out on the mountains), Tom spent his last few days balancing out enjoying time in England with writing his dissertation for his Masters. What’s that saying about busy people doing more things?

Bonus: if you’re looking for useful storage containers like the multiple boxes we own, these ones are very useful and also slide under a bed easily. Even better, they can also be stacked!

Tom’s work was not helped by feline interruptions

Both of us enjoyed Andrea’s cooking to its fullest before we leave family cuisine for a while, and Tom even managed to eat Gazpacho without complaint (despite his hatred of all things tomato).

Tea time 🫖 incomplete without cake

Eliza enjoyed a day catching up with friends in London, living the high life and being a tourist – somehow the city is a lot more exciting when you know that you’re going to be away for a while.

Happy tourist – St Paul’s hiding in the background

While we had much less stuff than we started out with, to take our bed (which is much cheaper than buying a new one!) we had an emergency trip to Halfords for some roof bars – nothing like last minute.

So, everything is now all packed up, crammed into our convoy of vehicles before we all set off across the Channel, or is that “La Manche”?
